Help I am frantically looking for small hand knit applique patterns to adorn some kids hats and scarves I've knitted. I have several patterns for hand knit flower appliques. But does any one know of a website for a variety of different patterns for small bugs, animals, symbols etc that are hand knit appliques?

This one looks a little beyond my scope ... You'll have to make a couple of them for me *hint hint* my kids would LOVE to have bugs to carry around. Haha.

Here's a cute pattern I saw today for a lady bug (free pattern of course)
http://knittingonthenet.com/patterns/miscladybug.htm

Tried to teach my 11 year old daughter to cast on today. Didn't work. So I cast on a row for her, and she knit 2 rows before stopping.

A little hint, dark colors of yarn (black, purple) are harder to see your stitches, so not as good for a beginner. Choose pink, yellow, white, something really easy to see what you're doing.
